Though it has grown in the last century to a population 826,833, Braga has been inhabited since pre-historic times. In the Iron Age the Bracari tribes, of Celtic descent, colonised the region and built many fortified villages. Nowadays the city is one of Portugal’s key growth areas. With a booming technology industry attracting talent from all over the world, moving to Braga could be the first step on the road to success for UK residents who want to shine in this fast moving industry.

The city’s major industries are construction, metallurgy and mechanics, software development and web design. Vila Nova de Gaia Relocation Services

Nestling on the coast opposite Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia is home to 288,749 inhabitants. Despite its small size, its proximity to Porto means that it has all the benefits of a smaller city, with stunning architecture and a relaxed way of life, while still boasting a thriving economy and leading many to consider moving to Vila Nova de Gaia.

One of the main reasons why many are choosing to relocate to Vila Nova de Gaia is the fact that it is the Portuguese municipality with the biggest number of Blue Flag beaches in 2009 and in 2010: 17 beaches along 17 km of seaside. This wealth of natural beauty means that moving to Vila Nova de Gaia could be the perfect compromise between the convenience of city living and the more laid-back life of a quiet seaside town.

Sharing the same climate as neighbouring Porto, Vila Nova de Gaia enjoys the benefit of being located on the Mediterranean coastal south: warm, dry summers and mild, rainy winters.
