The Apak Environmental Policy

At APAK we understand that packing, moving and storing prized possessions inevitably impacts on the environment and as a responsible company take an innovative approach reducing this impact and strive to make continuous improvements in our performance, providing our customers with a service that is genuinely environmentally responsible.

Our packing materials and cartons are made from recycled and recyclable materials and our wooden storage containers and packing cases are from timber from certified sustainable forests, complying with stringent international standards.
We encourage customers to make an environmentally friendly choice of packing materials by rewarding those who choose pre-used packing cartons with discounted prices.

All our vehicles have been fitted with Sattelite Navigation systems and trackers to ensure that all our drivers are taking the most efficient route and to avoid excessive vehicle idling an idling HGV will typically consume around 2 litres of fuel per hour, for a smaller vehicle this is around 1 litre. Our tracking systems produce reports highlighting instances of excessive (3-5+ minutes) idling, allowing us to manage and reduce fuel wastage.

In our offices we use only recycled paper to produce our customer quotes and invoices. Where possible we try to send all correspondence electronically which has seriously reduced the amount of paper we use. All of our office waste is shredded and recycled.
